Holly plunged into the forest, leaving the strange hills behind her. She knew if she kept going her beating heart might burst but, if she stopped it might be too late…
Panting, Holly gasped for breath. Blood trickled down the side of her forehead but she didn't care, all she needed was to get to the town of Avally to save her poor mother from the unfathomable, mysterious person who’d arrived three days earlier. All Holly knew about this person was that he was part if a murder plot and this plot involved her mother.
Holly kept going into the forest. Suddenly she heard something. A noise. It was a raspy whisper, “ beware, beware…” It wafted into the cold air. Holly waited to see where this peculiar voice came from, but nothing came. She shouted, “Hello?! Who’s there? Come back!” There was no reply. Finally she gave up and kept going ‘no timetable lose’ she thought.
As she came to the end of the forest, Holly stumbled upon a giant spear-like stick pierced into the snow like a sword. Holly examined it, then tried pulling it out. No luck, she kept going. A few steps later, she tripped over a shriveled up unicorn with silver blood flowing down its face. This creature had been murdered and the blood had been sucked out to give that imortal person the unfortunate gift of being half cursed. Holly shivered and kept going.
Checking her watch, she decided to pick up the pace, Holly had been traveling for 2 days now. She was hungry, tired and confused but she had to keep going. After what had seemed like hours, she came across an old abandoned town. All the buildings in the town had what seemed like blood smeared across all the doors, but one. The last building wasin perfect condition and a sweet apple pie smell wafted out of the chimney. Holly was so hungry that she decided to go in. She walked up to the door but before she could grasp the doorknob, the door creaked open. An old man stepped out, he was as pale as a ghost with dead eyes and a frayed plaid shirt with blood stains all over it. He lurched forward, towards Holly and grabbed her throat, he said, “Get out! How dare you come close!” He let her throat go and slammed the door.
As Holly trudged up the road to her mothers house in the town of Avally, her chest tightened with fear and she broke into a cold sweat. Was her mother ok?
