Environment has always been an important and debatable issue. It is very important to notice and always keep in interest about this topic. Then, how is CDL managing to keep the school´s environment eco-friendly and clean? Interview from Mr. Olly Corbin will give us a general idea.
So, how green is CDL?
There has been a lot of improvements and developments, however more environmentally friendly change should be implemented in the school. Problems such as food waste in cafeteria, waste of papers from printings and car emissions that harms the environment still exist.
What kind of solutions are there to improve the problems?
First, to decrease food waste, campaign such as ´No waste food day´ that can be held every certain day of a week can be good chance to encourage students to finish their plate in that certain day. Also promoting to make students and teachers take a train or ride a bike or walk to school instead of driving cars can help to decline car emissions. Small act can change and help the environment.
Sustainability group is also there to help the school environment. Teachers and staffs meeting has been held to discuss and fulfill their plan to improve the environment. Three groups have been divided to set in motion. One group is making an ecological garden where healthy vegetable and plants can grow, another is taking responsible of recycling and the other is in in charge of transportation. We are looking forward to their active role.
