Chapter one- Lulu
That’s me. The one with short dirty blond hair. Back of the class. Bluey grey eyes that used to sparkle but many weeks have passed and the flames gone out. That’s me. The girl who thought she had all the friends in the world, only to find out, she only had one. That’s me.
Life’s tough being an outsider. Life’s tough when your best friend has 2 secret admirers and you have none. Life’s especially tough when two of your best friends leave you. That’s when my story began.
I was thirteen when the cuts started, so about two weeks ago, I decided enough was enough and grabbed my pair of compasses. I was so sick and tired of these girls patronising me, laughing and then leaving. It was the time.
Chapter two- Mia
What do I do? My best friends are leaving me out, I have a creepy stalker and my best friend of all is going to commit suicide within a fortnight.
I wish it could stop! I want to press rewind on all our memories and show Lulu, she doesn’t need them. She’s doesn’t DESERVE them. She needs to know she is so much better.
A couple days ago, in options, she told me things weren’t getting better. It was like someone punched me in the gut. My smile disappeared of my face. I vaguely remember something in her eye, like a spark of hope, that made her brighten up the room, was gone. It wasn’t my best friend. It was a zombie-like creature with no hope, no emotion. The clouds came in and the sun went away. Tears rolled down my cheeks. I excused myself and dragged Lulu to the bathroom.
“Lulu, please don’t do this.” I cried. “I know that Mikala and Merida will never forgive themselves if they know they killed you!”
“I have to Mia. It’s the only way.”
Chapter three- Mikala
I woke up last night the hear a crash from somewhere in my room.
“Hello?” I said with all the courage I had, even though my stomach was churning. “ Please show yourself.” That’s when I saw it, the thing that boggled my mind and defied everything scientists have proved. I saw my dead (ex) best friend.
Let me rewind.
About a week ago, Lulu purposefully stepped out in front of a car and killed herself. She was put in a coma and later died to loss of blood. I have no idea why she killed herself. I was always so kind to her. Now Mia won’t talk to Merida and me, like we killed her!
My dead best friend was sitting at the end of my bed, a white glow around her. Her cuts and scars from where the car had hit were visible. It was horrific. She stared blankly at me, not saying a word.
“Lulu, is that you?” I whispered gently, hands trembling.
“Well what do you think?” Lulu answered in a sarcastic tone. “I came to tell you that YOU and Merida did this to me, and now you will pay.” And she disappeared. I was left in my black room, my world spinning.
Chapter four- Merida
I don’t know what to believe anymore. One of my best friends is dead and now Mikala is saying that she saw her. Weird.
When I gone home I decided to take a shower (as I am a germaphobe.) When I got out I saw her, Lulu. Mikala was right and I so needed to snapchat it. First though, I needed to be afraid as I’d encountered a ghost and she did not look happy…
“Lulu?” I questioned “So how’s being dead?” She glared to me and drifted forward.
“I need you to know that you did this and you will pay.” And just like Mikala had described, she was gone.
The morning after, Mikala and I talked for a long time about Lulu. Mia walked over to us. I asked her if she had seen Lulu in her room but she replied no. It was the first time since Lulu’s death that tears trickled down Mia’s soft cheeks.
Chapter five- Mia
Frankly I am a bit jealous that Lulu came to see Mikala and Merida but not her best friend! That night I went to sleep, reflecting on my memories with Lulu.
I woke up to feel a cold breeze against my cheeks. It must have been around 2 o’clock. I opened my eyes to see Lulu floating above me. I screamed.
“Mia shut up!” Lulu whispered. “I just came to say hi!”
“Why did you go see Mikala and Merida?” I questioned in a low voice.
“I came to warn them.” Lulu replied. “I am a ghost because I have unfinished business to take care of. Like making sure Merida and Mikala pay the price.”
“How are you going to do that?” I asked again, my head bursting with questions to ask.
“Simple!” She said with a chuckle. “They will lose something beloved to them.”
“Well I will see you later.” She whispered and drifted through the ceiling.
Chapter six- Mikala
Something terrible has happened! I lost my stuffed animal! The same thing happened to Merida. I came home from school and went up to my room. I set my stuff down and went to go kiss my panther hello. I turn to my bed and she was not there. Instead laid a blood covered note saying “You may have won the battle but I won the war.” My windows burst open and there was an eerie laugh. I ran into the corner of my room and rocked back and forth.
I drifted back to Mia to tell her all about what happened. I landed in her room and snuck up on her.
“Boo!” I screamed. She turned around and gasped.
“What is it?” I cried.
“It’s amazing!” She replied. “You look like an angel!” I walked over to her mirror to find me in a beautiful white dress with the biggest white feathery wings. I cried. When I turned to Mia, she grinned.
“What now?” I asked again.
“The sparkle in your eyes! It’s back!” She said, still with a smile on her face.
I turned to her. “I’m going to miss you.” I said holding back tears.
“Ditto.” Mia said and we hugged each other goodbye. I opened my big feathery wings. Doing so, I cracked her phone, broke a lamp and smashed her mirror. I giggled and flew off into the sky and was welcomed but the beautiful gates of heaven.
