Simply Theatre is now a part of hundreds of students lives all across Switzerland. With a campus only a few minutes away from CDL, many students already know about it.
Being a part of Simply we know that even after a few weeks we become what we call a “family”, united by our passion for theatre and the arts.
Being a newcomer to Simply theatre can be challenging, but easily enough you should be able to fit in. We talked to Deirdre Lennon, the newest Simply Theatre acting teacher.
Student Voice: How have the first few weeks been as a teacher at Simply? Do you like it here?
Deirdre: I do like it, yeah. It’s very easy to teach here, actually. I find the students are, like, there’s no real disciplinary problems and those sort of things. Everyone really wants to do it. It’s a bit madcap at times, like, where I work a lot, and there are lots of things to do, but generally the energy is really good.$
Student Voice: Cool! Do you feel welcome?
Deirdre: I do, yes, by everyone. The staff are really close knit and they really take care of me. I feel like I’ve got friends already. And the students are lively and fun.
SV: Do you feel like you have a lot of freedom in terms of teaching styles?
D: Well, we do have a plan. The Head of Department writes up the curriculum, but, in reality, how it goes is I do come up with, you know, a lot of what the material is what I come up with.
SV: Finally, how do you like Switzerland?
D: I love the mountains! Every day, if I can, I look at Mont Blanc.
We’d like to thank Deirdre Lennon for taking time out of her day to let us interview her.
